Fun ways to keep yourself and your partner healthy!

The idea of exercising and staying fit can be a little daunting, especially if you have to do it alone. Many people find the idea of working out really boring too. However, if you make fitness an active part of your relationship, then you can turn a solitary activity into one that brings you and your partner closer.

Here are some fun ways you can keep yourself and your partner healthy:

1. Cook together

Living a healthy lifestyle can be a simple matter of eating healthier meals. One way to ensure that you are eating well (and enjoying it) is to cook your meals together. Many people have help at home, and often rely on their cooks for their meals but you can still ensure that the ingredients used and recipes followed are on the healthier side. To make it simpler, you and your partner can make plan-ahead meals and make lunch tiffins with those and carry them to work.

2. Work out together

You don’t necessarily have to work out at the gym to be fit, although you might need to go there for specialized exercise routines. Working out at home can be very effective as you’re doing so in a space where you can control the environment. You can play your own music, wear what you like, and work out without having to pay a fee to be fit! There are many exercises you and your partner can do while at home. Some of these are crunches, push ups, tricep dips, lifts, and so on. Identify your main areas of concern (such as a lack of core strength) and exercise accordingly.

3. Sprinkle healthy snacks throughout the day

Another great way for you to ensure that you and your partner are healthy is to just add one snack item or drink to your daily routine for the two of you to enjoy together. Whether you want to have a lovely and refreshing smoothie in the mornings or a delicious yoghurt bowl with fruits in the evening after work, you can make it a ritual the two of you enjoy together. Since the prep time for such snacks is fairly low, you don’t have to worry about taking the time out to actually cook something.

4. Limit your screen time

One of the things we all do without realising how unhealthy it can be is having unlimited screen time. You spend your days at work in front of a computer or laptop, look at your cell phone every few minutes for calls or texts, and then come home and watch television before sleeping! Not only is that terrible for your eyes, it also adds stress to your mind. You need some time off. As a couple, the two of you can spend some quality time together talking or relaxing instead of watching television. It’s not only good for your health but also very good for your relationship as it lets you build your communication skills. Save the T.V time for the weekends if you want.

5. Sleep well

As partners, you can hold each other accountable for lack of sleep or long working hours. While one cannot do much about tight deadlines and last minute work changes, it is essential for the two of you to maintain at least a minimum of 7 hours of sleep. Lack of sleep can lead to a ton of health issues and can even make you look older!
Taking care of your health is vital. So is ensuring that you have a safety net in place in case something goes wrong. Investing in health insurance is the best way to make sure your loved ones as safe and secure no matter what.
