30 is a big number (and we’ve enlarged it further just for effects, hehe) and one that you especially dread in your roaring 20s! However, turning 30 doesn’t always have to be a bad thing.
Most importantly, think of it as an achievement of how far you’ve arrived- especially having crossed these 5 COMPULSORY things of your bucket list!
1. Run a city marathon
In order to participate in a marathon, you’ve got to let yourself build up to it. Give yourself a few months of training, including walking, jogging, eating nourishing food, and staying healthy in general. As you tick each month of training off the calendar, you’ll find that each workout routine ends faster than the one before. Finally, when it’s time to run, you’ll find the kilometres less daunting and more of a fun challenge. Apart from getting in shape and being healthy, the biggest merit of running this way is the discipline you will end up building in yourself. That kind of hard work and perseverance is bound to trickle down to other aspects of your life, enriching your whole lifestyle.
2. Learn a new skill set
Now, before you start listing all possible skills you want to acquire (endless isn’t it), note this: you don’t have to restrict yourself to a skill set that will add value to your job. For instance, learning how to cook or teaching yourself a language through an app. It’s all about the new experiences life has to offer!
3. Learn yoga
As you get closer to your 30s, you’re going to find yourself dealing with new responsibilities, more deadlines, and the pressure of performing well at work and at home. This can cause a lot of stress, which can make you continually irritable, anxious, or just plain tired. Stress also leads to a number of health conditions such as heart disease and mental illnesses. By investing your time in an activity that enables you to let loose and relax, like yoga, your 30-something you will forever be grateful to the the present you.
4. Sort your finances
Your 20s should be about making sound financial choices so that the 30 year old you can be rest assured about the financial security of yourself and your loved ones. Investing in an insurance policy can help you secure your family’s future and make sure they are taken care of no matter what uncertainty life throws at you or them. Investing in a product such as a ULIP can help you with two-fold advantages, with life insurance and investment covered in the single plan, making it financially feasible at this stage of your life. t’s definitely better to invest in insurance at a younger age since you can get higher covers for low premiums.
5. Travel to a new place
Everyone wants to travel and see the world. Make it a point to go to at least one new place before you hit your 30s. Whether that is a destination within India or one abroad, you can add so much more to your point of view by being exposed to different cultures and lifestyles.
Your 30s don’t have to be daunting and you can enter them with new perspective, priorities and an unparalleled enthusiasm!
